About This Challenge

The longest time to spin a basketball on a toe is 19 seconds, achieved by Bernie Eric Jeffrey Boehm (USA), in Wilbur-by-the-Sea, Florida, USA, on 30 April 2012.

Challenge Rules

  • A standard competition basketball must be used for the attempt. The basketball may not be modified in any way.
  • The basketball should be spun on the challenger’s toe.
  • The spin must be initiated by the challenger. No other person may touch the ball at any time during the challenge.
  • The challenger is allowed to start spinning the ball on his/her fingers and pass it on to his/her toe.
  • The timing begins when the challenger releases his/her hand(s) from the ball and passes it onto the toe.
  • If the ball stops spinning or falls off, the attempt is ended.
