I laid it down to measure it due to the fact that it was falling after the five second test. I left it at the same height it had even as it was collapsing.

Hi GWR. Exact start time = 2 minutes, 10 seconds. Score is 19cm high, because the highest part of the top marshmallow is behind the paper I am using to measure. See this when I move the paper away. Introductory info is at the start. Thank you.

Hi GWR, Exact start time: 1 minutes 35 seconds. See my preparations beforehand. I measured the stack before it toppled. The camera is lower than the height of the tower, and I measured the top as accurately as I could before it fell over. You can check my measurement against the patterns on the curtain. I will understand if the measurement recorded is decreased to compensate for the camera angle. I think I mistakenly included 1 marshmallow I had practised with, although they were not pre-prepared.

About This Challenge

The tallest sweet structure built in three minutes is 74 centimetres (29.13 inches), achieved by Silvio Sabba (Italy), in Pioltello, Italy, on 14 January 2013.

Challenge Rules

  • Any commercially available confectionery with ingredients of glucose, syrup, sugar, colourings and gelatin may be used.
  • The packaging for the sweets used must be shown at the start of your video
  • Sweets must have a maximum weight of 3 grams.
  • Inner and Outer layers of the sweets must not have any type of covering on them.
  • The challenger must use commercially available wooden cocktail sticks to build the tower which must measure no bigger than 2mm (0.2 cm) in width and 80mm (8cm) in length.
  • Equipment to be placed flat and separately on the table at the start of the attempt.
  • The challenger must start with both hands flat on the table.
  • Two hands may be used for this attempt. Any method or formation may be used with unlimited sweets and sticks, when creating the structure.
  • Should any sweets or sticks fall off the tower, during the attempt, or the tower falls over, the clock continues. Participants are permitted to rebuild it within the 3 minutes.
  • At the end of the 3 minutes, the tower must stand alone, unsupported for 5 seconds. If it falls over or any pieces fall off in this period, the attempt is disqualified.
  • The tower is then measured from the ground to the highest point (of the uppermost sweet) to give the vertical height achieved

Unfortunately, we cannot approve this record, as we cannot see you measure the structure from bottom to top. (try panning the camera). Also, only the top of the sweet will count, as it is a sweet structure. We encourage you to attempt this again.

In the rules then you might want to change it, because it says the highest vertical point achieved counts.
