about

Challenge Rules

The most dominoes toppled in one minute is 75 and was achieved by Gemma Hansen (UK) at Butlins, Minehead, UK, on 7 August 2010.

Challenge rules:

  • You must use standard, commercially available dominoes of minimum dimensions 39 x 19 x 7 mm (1 9/16 x 3/4 x 1/4 in.).
  • Any number of dominoes may be laid out outside the "stacking area" in any fashion prior to your attempt.
  • You must stack the dominoes (stand them up on their ends) in any formation within the "stacking area" during your attempt.
  • The "stacking area" must be no larger than 29.7 × 42 cm (11.7 × 16.5 in - the same size as a sheet of A3 paper) and must be clearly marked out on the stacking surface.
  • You may only use one hand to stack the dominoes, other hand must remain behind your back at all times.
  • You must stop stacking after one minute. Then, you have one attempt to topple the dominoes by pushing them with one finger.
  • Your final score is the number of dominoes successfully toppled, not stacked.

The current world record is still 75. Does that mean that the technique shown above (place 1,2,3) is not permitted? Are there any rule changes? I think that this challenge is not being updated for a long time. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Thats exactly why i had a frigging trial run, so that i wouldn't waste a ton of money on something i knew would be rejected.

    This is ridiculous

I think we're gonna need to change the rules of this record in future - while we appreciate the ingenuity some of you are showing, technique-wise, it's not really in the spirit of the record, and I'm not sure we can say those dominoes "toppled" when they haven't passed a 45 degree angle...

Well maybe you should have said that on his trial run before he bought over a hundred of them. Btw this is what i said after theultimate1's attempt
