Dear GWR, The vessel is lying at the same height as the caps, which I was told to have. No caps were dropped during the successful attempt, although some did shift slightly while I picked up ones close by. The surface is level, as can be seen by the level water surface. I believe I followed all rules, particularly with reference to where my hands were: I have seen GWR staff permitting hands at the sides, because like having hands behind the back, it ensures the activity is not interfered with. Regards, Alastair.

Dear GWR, the successful attempt preparations began at 5:20, and the successful attempt actually began at 7:36 – you can see the timer I followed. No caps were dropped, although some did shift slightly while I picked up ones close by. The surface is level, as can be seen by the level water surface. The latest successful challenger used a drawer, and I used one too. I believe I followed all rules, particularly with reference to where my hands were: I have seen GWR staff permitting hands at the sides, because like having hands behind the back, it ensures the activity is not interfered with. Regards, Alastair.

Hi Dan, this was done on 3 November 2011. When I watch the video, I think (I think) the 30th die has left my mouth and is already directly above the bowl when the timer goes off. Hence, if the 30th cap dropped vertically at the moment the timer went off, it would land in the bowl, is my reasoning. However, as with attempts under the main system, if GWR decides that only 29 of the caps will count, will this attempt be recognised with a score of 29 – not 30?

Hey Francisco, that's an interesting timer you have, which freezes at "0" - long enough for you to move 2 or 3 caps - before ringing the buzzer. At least that's how it plays on my screen. That aside, well done!

we cannot approve this record as the target receptacle is not place on the flat surface along with the bottle caps. We encourage you to attempt this again at another time.

Interesting to see what they make of this, as the drawer is under the level of the surface. I look forward to what they say.
