About This Challenge
The longest paperclip chain in 30 seconds is 56 paperclips, achieved by Silvio Sabba (Italy), in Pioltello, Milan, Italy, on 12 June 2012.Challenge Rules
- Standard, commercially available paperclips of length no greater than 40mm are to be used for this record attempt.
- At the start of the attempt, the paperclips must be laid out flat on the table, and the challenger must have his/her hands flat on the table. Once the challenge starts, the paperclips are to be linked in a single continuous chain.
- Once the 30 second period is over, the challenger must hold up the chain by one end, to show all the paperclips are properly attached.
- Only paperclips which remain attached as part of the chain when held up like this are to be counted towards the total score.

There is no way to confirm whether or not the paperclips are already connected, or if the paperclips themselves meet the requirements. I hope you'll attempt the record again, making sure everything is clearly visible so that we can adjudicate.
